Abstract
This submission was made to the Utilities Commission of the Northern Territory (UCNT) Electricity Industry Performance Code (EIP Code) Review in March 2023. The purpose of the UCNT’s 2023 review was to determine the relevance and effectiveness of the EIP Code, which includes retail performance indicators for household electricity services. The consultation occurred in two stages with stakeholders invited to respond to an Issues Paper and subsequently the Draft Decision. This submission responds to the Draft Decision and advocates for improved transparency around First Nations household energy access, through the application of the EIP Code to retailers operating in remote communities.
