Abstract
A description of the households in which Aboriginal children and young people live is of considerable importance to community and government organizations providing services or policy advice, particularly in education. This is because Aboriginal children often suffer from many disadvantages compared with other Australian children. This paper is not concerned with comparisons. The facts about the household backgrounds of Aboriginal children in the study area will be allowed to speak for themselves.
