In a recent paper, Pakou et al. concluded that if the transient field for Pt Fe is weaker than that of Os Fe, the reduction "cannot be accounted for by the sharing of vacancies between the 4s and 2p shells". However, such a firm conclusion does not follow from their results. Rather, the vacancy-sharing picture is consistent with available data pertaining to the behaviour of the transient field in this region.en
