Abstract
This submission was made to the Utilities Commission of the Northern Territory (UCNT) Electricity Industry Performance Code (EIP Code) Review in June 2025. The purpose of the UCNT’s review is to determine the relevance and effectiveness of the EIP Code, which includes retail performance indicators for household electricity services. The consultation occurred in two stages with stakeholders invited to respond to a Consultation Paper and subsequently the Draft Decision. This submission responds to the UCNT’s Draft Decision and advocates for improved transparency around First Nations household energy access, through the application of EIP Code performance reporting obligations to retailers operating in remote communities.
