Abstract
31 May 2000. Julie Ewington is a writer, curator and broadcaster who is Curator, Australian Art, at the Queensland Art Gallery; she also works on contemporary art from Australia and Southeast Asia. Her lecture will address the influence of Aboriginal art on Ian Fairweather's late work. Although this issue is widely discussed, Julie asks where is the historical proof? This lecture will canvas the issues and problems thrown up by this reading of Fairweather's work.
