Abstract

A large symbolic ‘8’ on one side of the Operative Stonemasons’ Society of Australia’s Sydney banner represents the eight-hour working day campaign. On the other side two local buildings, the Art Gallery of New South Wales and Sydney University’s Great Hall, display the skills of the craft.
