Abstract

Description

15 October 1997. Tape recording only features presentation by Richard Stone. -- Note with tape: David Watt's installation derives from Australian trade catalogues held in the Ephemera Collection at the National Library of Australia. Enlarged images of shoes and houses are installed as friezes on the Library's steps and balconies. The work explores the fragmentary quality of life and the ways in which knowledge is constructed. Richard Stone is Manager, Australian Collection Development at the National Library of Australia. David Watt is a sculptor and performer, currently Head of CSA Sculpture Workshop. Richard Stone and David Watt will discuss the collaboration. The work is on display 20 September - 20 October.
