Abstract
View looking along the street in which is located Perth's railway station. Many of the mostly commercial two storeyed buildings have verandas, some supported by wooden posts while others are held up by poles trimmed with iron lace. A few of the facades have been decorated with pilasters and ornate parapets supporting urns. Various businesses have their signs painted on or attached to the buildings. They include: VICTORIA AGENCY, BUSINESS & PROPERTY EXCHANGE; D. PATERSON'S SURGERY; SAMPSON CLOTHIER; and SHAW BROS..The street scene includes a large number of people under the verandas on the left, a bicycle and several horsedawn vehicles. One two wheeled delivery cart has the name: HAYES, painted on its side. A glimpse of lawn and trees on the right is possibly the park at Wellington Square.
