Jesse Gregson retired from the Australian Agricultural Company in March 1905 after thirty years as General Superintendent in charge of the Company’s pastoral operations at Warrah on the Liverpool Plains and its mining interests in Newcastle. At the time of his retirement he was presented with two illuminated addresses, one from the Newcastle Office staff, the other by the officials and workmen of the Company’s New Winning (Newcastle) and Hebburn (near Kurri Kurri) Collieries. Soon after the presentation Gregson departed on an overseas trip with his daughters and the addresses were placed, for safekeeping, in the bank where they remained until 1981 when his granddaughters, reminded of their existence, placed them in the Noel Butlin Archives Centre to complement the holdings of the records of the Australian Agricultural Company Limited.en_AU
