Abstract

Description

Her motif is that of the tree-woman. The composition of the painting is allied to that which is typical of Ragini Sarangi but seems to express the feeling of love in separation. Its response is shown in the flight of birds, the approach of the gazelle and the total form of the painting. The school of Basohli belongs to a group. Arabesques of cloud vapour fill the atmosphere
other Pahari paintings (i.e. produced in Western Himalayas) base similar designs on the shape of smoke. -- 7.5 x 11.5 inches.
