Abstract

Description

This throne is placed on a large pillar in the centre of the Diwan-i-Kas and consists of a circular platform connected with the galleries surrounding the hall by a sort of bridge on the hall's diagonals. The central platform is supported by thirty-six brackets, arranged in a circle around the capital of the pillar. Akbar used to sit here to preside over religious meetings. His ministers took their places on the galleries around the hall.
