To make water storage most convenient and the filling of water jars for cooking readily available, each house was equipped with its own well either in the courtyard or inside the house in connection with the kitchen or bathroom or both, The wells were lined with wedge-shaped bricks to make them water-tight the mouth of the cistern being raised by a high coping, Average size was about three feet in diameter, but larger ones measuring seven feet and smaller ones measuring two feet have also been unearthed, According to Indian scholar Vasudeva S, Agrawala, who has studied the Indus civilization carefully, the great preoccupation with cleanliness suggests that the Indus people held bathing as being part of their cult rituals, this particularly being true of the second major city, Harappa, which most likely belonged to the Asura race of Indians who believed in meticulous care of the physical body even after death,
