Abstract
Description
This is the most complete and best arranged of Hoysala temples. It has three star-shaped sanctuaries preceded by a single hall. The temple is of modest dimensions and marks a kind of regression in the art of the sculptor. It was erected in 1268. It occupies the centre of a rectangular courtyard, 213' by 174'. The temple measures about 89' from east to west and from north to south. The towers are only 33' high.
