dc.description.abstract | View of a bend in the Swan River edged by a road and a row of eucalypt trees. On the far shore a number of houses are visible at the base of a steeply descending ridge of treed land. By the water's edge, several men can be seen among the moored rowing boats while others stroll along the road. On the power pole on the left is written: ARNOTTS; and: (illegible) FLOUR. | |

local.description.notes | The Intercolonial Investment and Land Building Company was formed in 1885 to deal in real estate and to operate as banker and financial agents in the Australian colonies. In 1887, it absorbed the Joint Stock Building, Land and Investment Company Limited. The Company became a subsidiary of the Mercantile Mutual Insurance Company Ltd in January 1960. |
