Description
The bamboo poles are sunk in the river mud, and the platform is raised and lowered with the changing levels of the river. The man in the center in the orange robes holds in his hand a brass horn with a small hole at the bottom
he fills it with water, and then as the water drips out he repeats one of the names of the Lord, or a sacred mantra, over and over again until the water is all gone. Then he repeats, using another name of the Lord (there are a thousand names for Vishnu), or another mantra.
