Description

Brahma, enthroned in posture of royal ease (lalita-sana) on lotus throne. Celestial Rishis emerge from clouds
the Hamsa, the wild swan or gander, the Vahana (vehicle) and bird symbol of Brahma, turns towards his hand holding the rosary. The other hands hold the sacrificial ladle and water flask. The lower left, as if in the attitude of giving boons, counts the sacred syllables of the mantras. -- (now in Prince of Wales Museum, Bombay). 8th cent. A.D.
