Abstract
Description
With the development of The [sic] Brahmanic religion which grew more complicated under the influence of the Brahman caste, the temples acquired numbers of such new buildings as the Kalyana-mandapas, reserved for para-religioius musical or poetic ceremonies, and the ammans, or subsidiary buildings, reserved for the female equivalent of the deity. The use of ceremonial cars spread. The mandapa seen here, separated from the temple has composite pillars, decorated with human and animal figures.
