Photograph of Prime Minister Bob Hawke with a Chinese delegation visting the Pilbara. Hu Yaobang was General Secretary of the Communist Party of China at the time. Ross Garnaut was senior economic adviser to Prime Minister Bob Hawke 1983-1985 and Ambassador to China 1985-1988.
