Abstract

Description

This bronze vessel was found in Anyang. Though generally classed among the wine vessels, its purpose is uncertain. Judging from the cracks in the decoration it was most probably poured into a firm mould of at least twelve parts. The spherical body is covered in geometrical designs and the whole has an olive-green patina, with reddish-brown incrustrations in the ornamental depressions. -- h: 18.5 cm.
