Description
Background of wood covered with bitumen. Frame covered with sheet copper, animals of limestone in the milking frieze, of shell in the frieze of cattle with black bituminous stone as filling. 22 cm high x 1.15 m. Probably once decorated the façade of Ninkhursanga (Lady of the Mountain) temple. Shows return to the motifs of sacred herds and temple estates. Right : cows milked
Left : milk is sieved. The gate-posts flanking the door of the pen from which emerge 2 cows, provided magical protection. Derived from primitive closing device with slab, fastened with beam. -- Baghdad Museum.
