This standing figure of a bodhisattva in wood is attributed to the Sui period as it has certain characteristics which correspond to our conception of the art of that dynasty. The excellent state of preservation of this piece indicates that it could be a later copy of an ancient exemplar. There are faint traces of colouring left on the wood. -- h: 120 cm.
