Abstract

Description

Esoteric in contrast to the narrative style shown on previous slide, is the style of the bituminous plaque of Dudu, high priest of Lagash, which is in a symbolic figurative language, a kind of rebus or picture puzzle, whose purport is not obvious to us. We have successively the lion-headed eagle between 2 lions, which are biting its wings
the priest Dudu, bare-chested, wearing the kaunakes skirt
a heifer lying down, and a thick tress with 4 convolutions.
